The Austin Center for Grief & Loss is actively seeking a part-time Event Coordinator to join this vibrant non-profit agency which has been serving Austin community since its founding in 2007.  

Position Title:  Event Coordinator 
Reports To:  Executive Director 
Job Classification:  Non-Exempt, Part-Time 

Location: 2413 Greenlawn Pkwy, Austin Texas 78757, In-person 80%, remote 20%

How This Role Relates to Our Mission 
The Event Coordinator serves as the main point of contact and support for all events at The Austin Center for Grief & Loss (ACGL).  Working in collaboration with
others, this person provides leadership in coordinating and executing ACGL events. The Event Coordinator position offers a rich learning environment in a non-profit clinical setting.

 

Responsibilities    

  • Coordinates and executes agency events and trainings  

  • Responsible for setup and closedown of on-site events 

  • Purchase required supplies for events 

  • Maintain online registrations for events and trainings, tracking attendance 

  • Provide support during online trainings 

  • Point of contact for program and event inquiries 

  • Work closely with Gala Committee for planning and executing the annual fundraiser 

  • Assist Marketing Manager in promotions for events and programs 

  • Tracks and maintains all data and documentation for events 

  • Assist in creating social media content for events and programs 

  • Represents ACGL at outreach and community events 

  • Assist in maintaining accurate and updated event mailing and email lists 

  • Attends and actively participates in meetings as appropriate 

  • Provides an empathic and compassionate environment in order to create a safe space for those on their grief journey 

  • Perform administrative tasks in support of the organization and other duties as assigned 
     

Required Qualifications 

  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize tasks in a variable environment 

  • Creativity, with high-level of professionalism, and flexibility 

  • Position requires a detail-oriented, self-motivated and highly organized individual 

  • Strong interpersonal skills 

  • Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail 

  • Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse team, including external stakeholders 

  • Flexibility to attend special events, at times requiring evening and/or weekend work 

  • Proficiency and skills in MS Office, Google Suite 
     

Preferred Qualifications 

  • 2+ years directly related experience  

  • Experience with Wix, Robly and Canva a plus 

  • History of event planning, marketing, and fundraising 

 
Travel Requirements 
5% - Travel to events occurring at off-site locations 

 

WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE  

The position is part-time, with hours flexible to meet the responsibilities of the position. Compensation is an hourly rate of $20 based on experience and a contribution to a Simple IRA. Travel requirement is estimated at 5% for events occurring at off-site locations. Minimal night and weekend work is required. The Event Coordinator position offers a rich learning environment in a clinical setting.
