Rachel Saffer (she/her/hers) earned her Masters of Social Work from Bridgewater State University in Bridgewater, Massachusetts. Starting as an office volunteer at Austin Grief, Rachel quickly grew to be an integral part of our team.
Rachel has experience in providing counseling to adults, teenagers and children who have experienced significant trauma in both group and individual settings. Rachel utilizes various interventions in her practice including therapeutic yoga, EMDR, and traditional play therapy. She believes in providing every client with a welcoming and safe environment so that they can work towards healing on their own terms.

Bilingual Intake Care Coordinator
Reports To: Clinical Director
Job Classification: Professional, Full-Time, Bilingual Preferred (ESP/ENG)
Location: 2413 Greenlawn Pkwy, Austin Texas 78757, In-person position.

To assist adults and children as they move from loss to life through support, therapy, education, training and consultation throughout the greater Austin area.
How This Role Relates to Our Mission
The Bilingual Service Coordinator serves as the initial point of contact at The Austin Center for Grief & Loss (ACGL) for any inquiries about services offered by the Center. This requires coordinating schedules using an Electronic Health Records System for all therapists and interns, understanding therapist specialties and areas of expertise, the insurance carriers with whom they are credentialed, and their available appointment times. This person conducts phone intake assessments and provides referral resources to ensure that individual supportive needs are met. This is inclusive of individuals who may be seeking supportive services, helping professionals in the community, donors or other community members at large.
Responsibilities

Responds to individuals who have indicated a need for ACGL services and conducts an initial assessment by telephone

Assesses client needs and acuity, and makes appropriate referrals to internal and/or external resources

Refers clients to ACGL clinical staff for therapeutic intake appointments

Consults and collaborates with members of the ACGL clinical staff

Tracks clinician caseloads and availability for accurate scheduling

Provides an empathic and compassionate environment in order to create a safe space for those on their grief journey

Maintains high level of working knowledge of community resources which includes working with external organizations through regular communication, education and collaboration

Assists with training team members on intake procedure

Processes internal Care Assistance requests

Completes documentation of client interactions in a timely manner

Communicates with clients insurance copays and annual reverifications

Contributes to the development and implementation of quality improvement and outcome measures

Compiles client services reports for admin staff

Attends and actively participates in meetings as appropriate

Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Fluency in written and oral Spanish communications

Associates', BA or BS Degree

Case management experience preferred

Maintain person-centered and strengths-based perspective

Strong working knowledge of issues of confidentiality related to working in a mental health services setting

High-level of professionalism, flexibility, and ability to work well under pressure

Ability to represent ACGL in a professional manner through community outreach and attendance at community meetings as assigned

Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

Ability to effectively organize and prioritize tasks in a variable environment

Strong working knowledge of community resources

Experience working in a clinical environment preferred

Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse team, including supervisor and clinical staff

Computer knowledge and skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office programs

PC proficiency and skills in MS Office and database software
Hours
Weekly hours, 40 hours. Agency hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday-Friday.
