KIDS BEYOND DIVORCE
2nd + 4th TUESDAYS
(held concurrently with adult group--see below)
Children going through divorce sometimes feel alone and isolated. As a member of our group, children learn how to deal with changes to their family and routine through group discussions, role-playing, and the use of drawings and collages. Children gain a sense of belonging, a sense that their problems are shared with their peers (normalizing), emotional support, the development of positive coping skills, and catharsis.
Size of the group: Generally 4-8 members.
Facilitated by two trained volunteer facilitators.
Beyond Divorce is for those who are going through a significant separation or divorce. The group can help you heal as you work through what can be one of life's most difficult and painful experiences and help you deal with the new feelings that may arise, which can include anger, guilt, grief, loneliness, or fear.
Size of the group: Generally 8-10 members.
Facilitated by two trained volunteer facilitators.
